The pictures are here! Actually, the hard copies (disc and prints) are still on their way. If you've signed up on Pictage, you should be able to see the many (approx 1300) pictures our photographer posted there. She also made an album on Facebook called "Brianna and Clayton," so check that out, too. Feel free to tag people (if there are any left to tag! I was really excited...) or share the album. Check back soon for more pictures, which I will post exclusively here. On Monday I know I'll have more big news (and anyone paying attention probably already knows), so check back for that, as well.

Just a little update here. I have the thank you cards I ordered now, and I'm working on writing nice little notes of appreciation to everyone who attended our wedding. Obviously, this would be a heck of a lot easier if I could make Clayton do some (and then we could both sign them all), but of course, that isn't going to happen. Actually, Clayton says he wishes he could help me out with this task and, were it not so time consuming, I would consider sending him a bunch, along with a list of names and addresses. However, being the one with handwriting that is actually legible to most of the civilized world, the work falls to me. In short: it will take some time, but I'm working on them and I appreciate everyone's patience with me.
Next up is an update on our pictures. EVERYONE wants to know where the pictures are. We live in a digital age, surely I should have them instantly! Well, that is not quite the case. You see, whereas photographers previously had to manually develop the pictures, a process that had you patiently waiting for your proofs for months at times, today's photographers are developing them in a different way. The Photoshop has changed the face of modern photography, and as a result, still has me waiting a few weeks for my photographers to fix peoples' shiny faces, red eyes, etc.. Also, my photographers, being the awesome people that they are, are rather busy this month. Now that I've (hopefully) diffused your understandable impatience with the process, I actually do have some news on the photographs. Jenn (my primary photographer and the one with whom I signed a contract) has told me that many of the photographs will be available soon on Pictage, probably within a week. If you all go to pictage.com and search for "Brianna and Clayton Leverenz", you will be brought to a page with a guest book. Go ahead and register, because only two things will happen as a result.
Obviously, I won't have a wedding album to show anyone until I have the CD of our pictures. The moms did not take any pictures at the wedding because they were helping out the whole time and/or being awesome and talking to guests. So they have no pictures to show anyone, and will not until I give them some from the photographers (so please don't harass our mothers for documentation too much!). The only pictures we have at the moment are from the photo booth (which only exist on this site and the disc the photo booth people gave me) and the kind guests who sent us some of theirs from cameras and/or cell phones. Most of everything that I have is available under Pictures on this site. So if you have pictures, please send some on to me so that I'll be able to enjoy them, too. And if you don't, then sit back and relax, and we'll show the professional photos to you when they're good and ready. Thanks! Brianna Some more guests have kindly permitted me to share their pictures from the wedding with you all. You can see them in the gallery under Pictures. Also, I've added the official music video of the song Clayton and I used as our first dance (it's on the home page). So run along and check out those new goodies. But first, please comment on my last blog post! Many thanks to Mom Leverenz for contributing her knowledge and opinions. If you have some thoughts about what constitutes a proper couch, please share! Thanks!
Brianna Ok, so apparently no one felt like talking about the sushi. Fair enough. This time, however, I'm really really hoping that someone will want to contribute to the comments or emails, because I have a genuine concern. Clayton and I need some advice on buying a couch.
Our general furniture purchasing process goes something like this:
So do you, my dear readers, have any advice on what to look for in a couch? Large arms? One solid seat cushion, or several? What about the back cushions? Should they come in pieces, or be solid as well? What's a good length (or other dimensions)? What's too much to pay for a couch? Are slipcovers overrated, or a necessity? I could go to some forums or surf furniture stores' websites, but I trust you people, so I'd rather get my information from you. Indeed, you might be thinking I'm not asking the most important questions there are regarding couches, and that is because I have never purchased one before. So please, I beg you all to hit me with your best words of wisdom regarding couches, sofas, loveseats and sectionals! Thanks in advance! Brianna I know, I've been a slacker blogger the last week. Ever since I got back to New York, I've had a lot of work to do, keeping up in my classes. This next week will probably be nuts, too, since I have a few presentations. After that, however, it's pretty well down hill, just doing research and writing papers.
This weekend, I was going to stay in Buffalo and clean my room. However, it will be Halloween, and I do not want to be here. I know! I've always wanted to do college student Halloween things (whatever those may be), but since my car was egged a couple months ago on a perfectly normal day, by people Clayton guesses were "just some hoodlums with an extra egg," (huh?) I really don't want to find out what this weekend has in store for me in Buffalo. So I'll probably go back to my mother's place and assist with candy distribution. OH MY GOSH! Did anyone else see the Northern Lights on Monday night? I had just left the farm after picking up some mail and visiting with Clayton's mother, we I looked north (as I often do for this very reason) and saw green streaks across the sky! I pulled over and called Clayton's mom to ask if I was nuts, was informed I was not, and then we hung up. I jumped out of my car and looked up to see what was probably the most spectacular aurora I've ever beheld! It was all streaks of green and red, and it was as if God had mounted stained glass onto the sky. I called my own mother and informed her of the event, just in time, too, because she was in a position to drive north just then to someplace slightly more remote and get a good look. Then I stood, looking up in awe for probably 15-20 minutes, absorbing the sight and storing it in my memory as well as I could. I'm so glad I got to see another aurora (this was my third) before moving south. Apparently this one was seen as far south as Alabama, but I have no idea how much people down there actually saw. Of all the things I'll miss from New York, the Northern Lights are high up on the list. Up there with Tim Horton's, real pizza, good bagels, garbage plates and maple syrup. Now I'm just chilling in my room in Buffalo. I guess we *might* get snow today. This worries me a little, because when Buffalo gets snow, it GETS SNOW. It's still early yet, however, and it'll probably just be the wet, icky kind. I wish I had a more appropriate word for it, but I am not an Eskimo, and "wet and icky" is the best I can do. I might get another post up here this weekend while distributing candy, but otherwise don't expect a whole lot for some time. Right now we're waiting on everything. Waiting for my semester to be over, waiting for the photographers' proofs, waiting for a house, waiting for Clayton's shift to change. Just, everything. I'm trying to maintain that newly married bliss thing I had going last week, but it's tough when we don't even live together. There won't be any new pics of our combined shenanigans for a while, either, as I won't see Clayton again until he says it's time to come claim our house. So sorry if the blog gets boring for a few weeks! Thanks for stopping in anyway. Brianna |
